Our Psychologists
Our psychologists provide a supportive, caring, and confidential environment for clients to discuss their difficulties. We want you to feel comfortable in exploring your concerns so that you and your therapist can work productively to reach your therapy goals.
Our psychologists are fully registered with specialist endorsement in Clinical Psychology with the Psychology Board of Australia. All are highly trained with Masters or Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology.
Dr Lynette Hung
BPsych (Hons), PhD, MPsych (Clinical, Hons), MAPS
Lynette is the Principal Clinical Psychologist of the practice. She has over 10 years of experience in research and clinical psychology, and received her qualifications from the University of New South Wales.
Lynette specialises in the assessment and treatment of a range of adult, child and adolescent difficulties. Her main areas of expertise include anxiety disorders (e.g., social anxiety, panic disorder with/without agoraphobia, posttraumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalised anxiety, health anxiety, performance anxiety, phobias), depression, anger, grief and bereavement, insomnia/sleep difficulties, stress, interpersonal difficulties, behavioural and conduct problems, and social skills deficits. She also has an interest in working with autism spectrum disorders. She has worked in both private practice and the public sector, and in both research and clinical settings.
Lynette works predominantly within a cognitive behavioural therapy framework. She also has experience and interest in applying other therapeutic approaches, including acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, schema therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and family systems.
Lynette has worked with clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds. She believes in a collaborative approach to treatment and is sensitive to the specific needs of each client.
In addition to private practice, Lynette has almost 15 years experience in psychology research and is a Conjoint Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales. She previously held a Research Fellowship in the School of Psychology at UNSW, where she conducted research on anger, anxiety, autobiographical memory, and dissociative processes. She has published several peer-reviewed articles, presented at national and international conferences, and won several awards for her research.
Lynette is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She holds full registration and specialist endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (Registration #PSY0001050663).
